About Harm From China

Our Mission

Harm From China is an independent, non-partisan documentation project that tracks and maps incidents involving harmful activities by Chinese state and non-state actors around the world. Our goal is to provide a transparent, evidence-based resource for journalists, researchers, policymakers, and the general public.

What We Document

We document a wide range of incidents including espionage, cyber operations, economic coercion, military activities, human rights violations, transnational repression, infrastructure manipulation, and other activities that cause harm to individuals, institutions, or governments outside China's borders.

Data Sources

All incidents on this platform are sourced exclusively from verified public reporting, including major international news organizations, government reports, academic research, and official legal proceedings. We do not publish unverified claims or anonymous tips. Each incident is linked to its original source material.

Editorial Independence & Neutrality

Harm From China is editorially independent and is not affiliated with any government, political party, or advocacy organization. We document incidents based solely on verified public evidence. Our mission is factual documentation, not political advocacy. We apply consistent standards regardless of the geopolitical context.

Important Disclaimer

The documentation of incidents on this platform does not imply that all Chinese nationals, organizations, or the Chinese government as a whole are responsible for the actions described. We document specific verified incidents involving specific actors. We firmly oppose discrimination against any individual based on nationality or ethnicity.
